Too Blog or Not Too Blog...

Welcome to my first blog post. I initially had zero interest in having a blog on my website, mostly because the vast majority of people do not like to read anymore. Straight to the point, or point form, and abbreviated words with little to no punctuation seems to be the way of communicating now. I can't say that I like it, but I can't stop it. I figured it would be enough of a challenge to keep people interested in my newsletter every month as it is, so why take the time to write an entire blog post when there's a very slim chance anyone will be interested in it? I'll tell you why: I still love to read. And, I enjoy writing.

I love reading newsletters and blog posts from other people. I just do. I'm actually genuinely excited when they show up in my inbox. Also, I struggle to communicate in person, and for most of my adult life writing has been a much easier form of communication for me. I have journaled for years. It helps me to figure out what I'm feeling and thinking, and I love that there's no one standing in front of me, triggering the social anxiety that causes me to stumble over my words, forget what I'm talking about mid sentence, or struggle to think of the precise word I want. I'm not the most talkative person, but it's not because I have nothing to say. I'm finding as I'm painting there's a lot I'm thinking about that is shareable and probably relatable to others out there. So, I decided I didn't care if a single person reads my blog posts. Or if a single person likes them. I'll just write them for the sake of enjoyment, organizing my thoughts, and also making my future self laugh when I look back on these. If you happen to come upon this and read it and enjoy it, let me know. If you don't enjoy it, that's fine. You are free to move along. I don't know how often yet I will write a blog post. Probably every 2 or 3 months to start. And truth be told, after a few posts it'll very likely fall by the wayside for awhile until I have something exciting to write about. I do have a few things to share coming up, and if one person does read them, then I hope they'll find it (at the very least) less of a waste of your time than certain social media sites.

Cheers for now,

Jenna (and Harley)

ps, you'll have to excuse any and all grammatical and spelling errors. Just because I like to read and write, doesn't mean I'm actually good at it.
